“Bringing the Community Together” is the theme for the 2013 W.C. Young Community Center Board of Director’s 8th of August Emancipation Celebration. It is a time when we affirm, serve, spend quality time, break bread, and spread love! This year, special recognition will be given to those 80 years and older. Our beloved seniors will be recognized at the Open House.
The Souvenir Book provides the perfect opportunity to celebrate births, graduates, marriages, remember deceased loved ones, or advertise your business. Please help us ‘tell your story’ by submitting articles, pictures of family or church members, and/or highlights of memorable events.

The Community Center and its volunteer Board continue to provide a place for individuals, organizations, churches, etc. to meet to serve as an effective voice and vehicle for the social an economic advancement of African Americans and the community. With your support, we have documented history, honored individuals, and celebrated our freedom and culture. We are excited about this year’s activities and hope you will help us continue the celebration by investing in an ad or by making a donation to the W.C. Young Community Center.
